Prime Big Deal Days Is October 6-7. Here's What Brand Sellers Need to Do This Week.

Amazon confirmed yesterday that Prime Big Deal Days returns on October 6-7. Prime members get 48 hours of exclusive deals across more than 35 categories, with new deal drops at midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. PDT each day. If you're a brand seller with inventory still in motion, today matters more than the event date.

The last inbound deadline for most FBA sellers is September 16, which is tomorrow. That's the cutoff for shipments using Amazon-optimized shipment splits, the option most sellers select. If your inventory isn't already at a fulfillment center or on a truck, your window for guaranteed Prime badge eligibility during the event closes in 24 hours. There's no flexibility in that date; inventory that arrives late may not be processed in time.

Where the Inventory Deadlines Stand Today

The AWD inbound deadline passed on September 2. The FBA minimal-splits cutoff passed on September 9. The deal submission window closed on September 8. For Prime Big Deal Days specifically, the only deadline left is September 16 for FBA Amazon-optimized splits. After tomorrow, the next actionable inventory window is Black Friday, and those deadlines run from October 14 through October 28 depending on your shipment method.

For BFCM planning, the dates to put on your calendar are AWD shipments by October 14, FBA minimal splits by October 21, and FBA Amazon-optimized splits by October 28. Deal submissions for Black Friday and Cyber Monday are open until October 20, so there's still time to submit deals even if your Q4 inventory planning is behind. Holiday peak fulfillment fees also kick in on October 15 and run through January 14, 2027, so your fee calculations for the full Q4 period should reflect that range.

How Alexa for Shopping Changes the Event for Brands

Amazon's announcement for this year's Prime Big Deal Days puts Alexa for Shopping front and center. Shoppers can set Deal Alerts for specific product categories, ask Alexa to surface deals on items in their saved lists, review up to 365 days of price history on any product, and turn on Auto-Buy to have Alexa complete a purchase automatically when a target price is hit. That's a materially different discovery path than browsing the deals page.

What this means for brands is that visibility during the event increasingly depends on factors Alexa weighs: price history consistency, review quality, listing completeness, and how well your content matches what shoppers ask conversationally. A product with an artificially inflated pre-deal price, thin bullet points, or a recently rewritten title from the 75-character limit rollout may be harder for the assistant to surface confidently. Our work on AI search content optimization addresses exactly those signals, and the Alexa discovery layer makes it increasingly relevant before events like this one.

The assistant also now sends proactive notifications when something relevant drops. Shoppers who set alerts in advance don't need to check the deals page; Alexa tells them when something matching their request is available. That shifts more of the discoverability work upstream, to how well your listing and deal structure are set up before the event starts.

What to Check Before October 6

If you have active deals approved for Prime Big Deal Days, confirm that your inventory is in transit or already at a fulfillment center before tomorrow's cutoff. Check your FBA Inventory page for minimum recommended stock levels on any ASIN running a deal, and verify that your listing content is current, including Item Highlights and any title adjustments made during the 75-character rollout.

For sellers who didn't submit Lightning Deals or Best Deals this cycle, coupons and price discounts are still available without submission windows and can still drive the deal badge during the event. It's a narrower promotional tool, but it's not closed. Our Amazon account management team helps clients navigate the promotional calendar and inventory requirements across Q4 events, including BFCM planning that starts right after Prime Big Deal Days ends.

If you want to talk through your inventory position, deal strategy, or what Alexa optimization looks like for your catalog before October 6, we're available this week. Schedule a call and we'll start with where your Q4 stand right now.
